This has been one of my favorite websites when I first started to go online. In those days, this was the only one from India to have a major presence on internet. And everybody had a rediffmail account.
It was a wonderful site. Lots of news used to reach us even before the television channels could report it. I liked the site for the simple reason that it opened much faster than yahoo mail or hotmail, then. Even today I use rediffmail.
Over the years, rediff has added apart from mail and news other sections into the site to make it interesting for people to come in and explore. They segreagated the new topic wise, opened a shopping portal, blog, financial market, astrology sections and many more.
The site always had a simple clean look with less ads earlier. Later on it started having some irritating ads. But then, people loved it because it is of Indian origin. And still it is a good one except that the news and analysis has become stale and of trash value.
